Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1826: the first giraffe ever in France, arrived by ship in Marseille, a gift to King Charles X, a mere trip of 2,000. After wintering there, she was walked 550 miles to Paris. Politics aside, she was a big hit and this is her true story. An ex-library book in good condition, with some markings and writing on the interior, but nothing on the exterior to indicate its origin. A bonus book is included, "The Oil Jar" and other stories by Luigi Piradello, the master storyteller who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 193.
