Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 2nd Edition. Color pictorial cover featured Mt. Fuji on front and a couple in a jeep on the back. Colors are bright with little to no sun fading. Illustrated endpapers and 24 color illustrations with alternating haiku-like blurbs on the opposite page, highlighting the clash of cultures during the post war period of the occupation of Japan. Only real flaws: inscription to prior owner and date on title page in ink and the slightest bit of looseness to the binding. 2nd / 1st.

Flath, Signal Section, a leave of absence to travel from Japan to Hong Kong, China, Manila, Philippine Islands & Siam, for 27 days at no expense to the U.S. Government; red linen spine; pictorial multl-color boards have minor smudging/staining at bottom margin, else clear, colorful & good; on a very few text pages there is slight print color-transfer; else is very good cond; very scarce item. Size: 10 1/4" x 7 1/4".
