Elton in 1850 and operated at 3 Tryon Row until 1855, when he made his younger brother Edmund McLoughlin a partner, moved to Beekman St., and changed the company's name to McLoughlin Bros. Publishers. The book was illustrated by Harrison Weir (1824 - 1906), with his name printed incorrectly here as Harrison Wier, was a renowned British artist, best known for organizing the first cat show in England, and for his books and illustrations of cats, dogs, poultry, and wild animals and birds.
