A very good copy, with some wear to the covers, but bright and vivid throughout. Illustrated throughout in colour and black and white by Briggs. Uncommon. James Anthony (Jimmy) Murphy as an American racing driver who won the French Grand Prix in 1921, the Indianapolis 500 in 1922, and the American Racing Championship in 1922 and 1924. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread. Minor pushing to the spine ends. Free from inscriptions, erasures and markings. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Mild creasing and rubbing at the spine ends, rear upper edge and along the spine folds. Small amount of loss at the upper rear corner fold area. Small amount of tape reinforcement to the upper spine on the verso which does not show through to the front. The artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The second title in 'The true accounts of great events in human adventure' series. Profuse full colour and B/W illustrations throughout. An early Briggs title and scarce with such attributes.
