About this Item: Hawaiian Historical Society, Honolulu. Hard Cover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. First Edition. Issue 14 of the Papers of the Hawaiian Historical Society, bound with The Thirty-First Annual Report of the Hawaiian Historical Society for the year 1922 (published 1923). Both journals, complete with wrappers, are bound into a simple black cloth hardcover, spine titled in gilt. Journals in NEAR FINE condition: hardcover clean with light edge rubbing. Binding tight. Issue 14 includes Gilman's "Journal of a Canoe Voyage along the Kauai Palis, made in 1845" and an article by Ballou and Carter "The History of the Hawaiian Mission Press, with a Bibliography of Earlier Publications." The 1922 Annual Report includes "The First Discovery of Honolulu harbor" by Bruce Cartwright; "The passing of Kamehameha I" by W.D.
