Finely bound by the Chelsea Bindery in dark blue morocco, titles and decoration to spine gilt, raised bands, single rule to boards gilt, twin rule to turn-ins, pictorial endapers depicting various cooking utensils, gilt edges. The occasional minor blemish else an excellent copy in a fine binding. Fourth printing. Signed by the author to front blank "Cordially yours Irma S. Rombauer." First published privately by the author in 1931 with a run of 3,000 copies. The Bobbs-Merrill Company bought it in 1936 and went on to produce six further editions.
