A very scarce copy, rarely seen in commerce and found institutionally only at the British Library. Pagination interrupts at p. 34 of 42 recorded by the British Library. Missing the last eight pages of text.Half title is present. Illustrated with vignette engraving to title page, full page engraving, and a striking engraved headpiece to p. 1 after by Charles Eisen.French tale by François-Thomas-Marie de Baculard d'Arnaud, French writer, playwright, poet and novelist of the eighteenth century. He is known for his series of novellas 'Les Epreuves du sentiment' that inspired Bellini's opera 'Adelson e Salvini.' Unbound. Text block firmly bound. Odd light spotting to odd leaf, pages otherwise generally very clean with a touch of age toning to occasional leaf. Good Only. book.
