First Edition. the dust jacket is slightly torn and chipped at the head and tail of the spine and at the top and bottom of the fold overs, and has a rubber number stamped at the bottom right of the rear panel which indicates that it was processed by Melbourne University press in March 1960 on behalf of Jonathan Cape. top edge tinted red, top left hand edge of the front board has frayed. Internally clean, and free of annotation. The main purpose of this book is to show how nationalist rivalries paved the way to modern tyranny in central Europe.
