About this Item: The Junior Literary Guild and The Vanguard Press, New York, 1951. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. The cover has red cloth with black lettering and a few decorative lines. Content: 11 chapters; frontispiece (red, black, and white); b/w map titled, U.S. Amateur Radio Call Districts and the Route of "Solus"; appendices about ham radio stations, slang, abbreviations, and codes. The top end of the text block is blue; it has a linear 1 5/8 in. water stain, of which a little, up to a linear 1/2 in., runs onto the top margins of most of the pages. A light stain, left by a sticker, is on the front FEP. The top margin of the title page has small, light stains. DJ: Nearly 1/4 of the front panel is missing. Chips and closed tears are on its bottom end. The spine panel has 3 large chips and is mottled with rubbed spots.
