An edition limited to 1,000 copies. Diane di Prima called Manhattan her home for many years, where she was considered to be the most important woman writer of the Beat movement. During those years she co-founded the New York Poets Theatre, and founded the Poets Press, which published the work of many new writers of the period. She also edited the literary newsletter The Floating Bear with Amiri Baraka (LeRoi Jones). In 1965 she moved to upstate New York where she joined Timothy Leary's psychedelic community at Millbrook.
