Item Description: BCM King Mob, London, 1968. Includes "The Return of the Repressed", "Black Anarchy: Pillage as the Natural Response to the Affluent Society" reprinted from Situationiste Internationale 1966, "Desolation Row", quotes from Freud on mysticism, bits of Vaneigem on Nihilism all this Situationist stuff when it isnít purely theoretical, and fantastic, but contains oxygenated calls to action, "polemical" outbursts, poetical intuitions, pop "blasts of fresh air" etcetera seems as hopelessly narcissistic and rebelliously suburban-middle-class now as it did then. The theoretical stuff, on the other hand, sometimes had a critique of or insight into the urban state institutions that made some sense when the quotes werenít as happy with R.D. Laing as with de Sade and Comics, and vice versa. (Debord on his own an entirely different matter. Polemical radical philosophy, theory.) Near new except for some burn marks (?) on 2 pages for 1/2 inch near the spine, the paper in perfect condition nevertheless Ė so perhaps the burn marks are simulacra, faux-burn marks, the way Situationist revolution was faux revolution.
