First. 1952 Catalog printed on Velin d"Arches paper by Mourlot Freres, Paris, in an edition of 1000, for Leger's Exhibition "La Figure dans L'Oeuvre de Leger". 32 pages, 8 high quality full page color lithography reproductions (incl 2 double page), 8 black line paintings on beige background, 5 in-text illustrations. Some of the artwork reproduced were created in the year or this publication, 1952, like f. i. his famous "Visage aux Mains". Text by Andre Marois "Mon Ami Leger", and "Comment je concois la figure" by Fernand Leger. Leger dies 3 years later. 1881-1955. Book is in very good condition, foredge uncut, heavy stock Arches paper, glassine dustjacket with title and editor printed in brown - glassine misses 2 small chips on upper edge backcover, otherwise very good. Great item on FERNAND LEGER, one of the great 20th cty artists, famous for his mechanistic, strongly defined monumental renderings. Rare. Seller Inventory # 003091
