Six bound-in plates on Woodbine enamel are direct lithographs of the original Revolutionary War maps. 1066 pages in total (Book 1. 184 pp; Book 2. 364 pp; Book 3. 458 pp). The book is composed of three books, Lafayette Comes to America (184 pp), Lafayette Joins the American Army (364 pp), and Lafayette and the Close of the American Revolution (458 pp). Lafayette and the French support of the revolution against their hated enemy, the British, spelled the difference in the revolution being successful and being a failure. This Bicentennial Edition of Lafayette's career in the American Revolution begins with his birth (September 6, 1757) and ends with his return to his birthplace, Chavaniac in Auvergne, in March, 1783, after the signing of the general preliminaries of peace by Britain, France, and the United States. He remained a close friend of America until his death in 1834. A clean pristine copy. No International Shipping. Signed by Author(s).
