About this Item: Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1936. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Grosset & Dunlap reprint of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1933 novel about back-country Georgia. Price-clipped, though price was probably a three-letter code, which we cannot decipher. (It was NOT "PCJ," for Price Code J, which would indicate New York City's brilliant price control scheme 1942 and after.) Copyright 1933, which was the date of the first edition; also states "Thirty-seventh edition / K-L," but that's the Harper's code for the edition of November, 1936, probably picked up from the Harper's plates. Ad to back flap is for Gladys Hasty Carroll's "As the Earth Turns," which was another 1933 publication, so that's not much help. We'll guess at a publication date for this one circa "1936." Green topstain. "Good" jacket with considerable chips to corners and top of front panel. 345 pp. Reduced from $55. Seller Inventory # 003113
