The Land of Living Color; a Pictorial

About this Item: J.B. Scofield, San Francisco; (1915). Condition: Fine. Quarto. 70p. beautifully illustrated throughout in color. The J.B. Scofield is the finest of the productions designed by C.W. Fisher and issued in conjunction with Sunset Magazine. In the used and rare section of Publisher's Weekly, Oct 22, 1921, John Howell (father of the late Warren Howell) was advertising for a copy. There are full page color illustrations including Thomas Moran on the Grand Canyon, Tribute to the Dead by John Henry Sharp and New Mexico by Maynard Dixon. Later issued in cheap editions, Bound in pictorial stiff paper wraps lettered and decorated in dark green and gilt, lacks rear flap but doesn't detract from the beauty of this work.
