[portrait], preface, illustrated, plates, portraits, advertisements. Three illustrations by Charles M. Russell. In addition to the history and description of the Flathead Reservation, a general history of Montana to include information on the opening and settlement of the area, results and yields of various crops, mines and mining, livestock, hunting and fishing, lumber, irrigation, wages, land and mining laws, etc. The author was for seven years U. S. Indian Agent in charge of the Flathead Indian Reservation. Herd 2085 says "Scarce." Fine, bright, fresh copy with 1/2" closed tear to bottom edge of front free fly leaf.
