Micheldean, Gloucestershire, 28 Jan 1964. She was the daughter of a Congregational minister; she spent part of her childhood in Christchurch, New Zealand and Melbourne, Australia. She was a teacher, specializing in infant and primary school teaching, although for a short period (1917-20) she worked for the National Sunday School Union at its Cardiff office.
