About this Item: Thomas Harper, London, 1807. 3/4 Calf Leather, Gilt. Condition: VG Plus. Seventh Edition. The First edition of the 'Constitution of Free-masonry or Ahiman Rezon' was published in 1756. It went through eight editions, the last edition being published in 1813. In 1813 'the Ancient Grand Lodge was dissolved by the union of the two Grand Lodges of England, and a new Book of Constitutions having been adopted for the united body, no subsequent edition of the 'Ahiman Rezon' was ever published. Each edition is highly collectible as they are all different, one from the other. They have different ilustrations, frontis and dedication page, and the text was continually revised. A sixteen page list of lodges [printed in 1807] was attached to the back of the seventh edition which was not found in most other editions. this list is usually absent, however, in this copy it is present. Bound by J. Foord, Bookbinder, Printer & Stationery on 16 Charlotte Street, Landport [England]. xlix + 234pp + 16pp. inscription in ink to htp reading - 'October 18 1835/Thomas Iverson/given to him by his/mother Jane Hutchins'. Rest of book is unmarked. pages are tightly bound, clean and fresh. Very minor foxing present in a few places. Further information and scans are available. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
