Während in Deutschland zahlreiche Einzelpublikationen seiner Arbeiten erschienen, so fasst erstmals der französische Verlag A. Guérinet sein Gesamtwerk zusammen, indem er alle Ausführungen, aber auch alle Zeichnungen und Skizzen Hottenroths in einen zweiteiligen Band brachte - und damit ein Kompendium erschuf, das es auf dem deutschen Markt nie gegeben hat - und in dieser Qualität auch niemals geben wird.Kein Nachdruck wird die Pracht dieser Chromolithographien jemals annähernd erreichen können. So sind die Darstellungen in leuchtenden, frischen Farben auf festes Kartonpapier der Tafeln gedruckt - und hier in einem französischen festen und immer noch intakten Einband gebunden.
