Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Thus. First thus by Scribner - letter "A" on copy right page. Navy blue cloth binding is clean with light rubbing along edges and spine. Lettering on spine lightly faded. Embossed illustration on front board visible and unmarred. All pages are well bound to spine. Interior pages have no tears or creases. Previous owner delicately hand wrote on fep ,a list of 3 other books on Whitman and a small list of page references for verses on back end paper. This is the only writing. This is NOT an ex-lib. Foxed and age tanning is noted on end papers and edges of pages. A very nice compact copy of Whitman's works.
