One such company was based in Leith. Robb's Victoria Yard built 42 ships for the Royal Navy and 14 merchant vessels during WWII, and in addition they refitted and repaired a further 3,000 ships. The naval vessels built included trawlers, minesweepers, corvettes, rescue tugs and frigates. The merchant ships were chiefly coasters. This post-war account privately printed by Henry Robb, is illustrated with 33 photographs and drawings, plus an aerial photograph taken of the shipyard by a German reconnaissance aircraft.
