Sky blue cloth covered boards with the author's name and title imprinted in gold on the spine. 304 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-5/8". Fourth in the 'Lens' series of novels by Smith, first serialized in Astounding Magazine in 1939. Cover art by Hubert Rogers with interior illustrations by Ric Binkley. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped, original price of $3.50 printed on the top corner of the front flap. The dust jacket has some light edge wear to the lower corners, but no tears, slight sun fading to the title on the spine. Stain mark on the interior of the dust jacket, which is also apparent on the lower left side of the front flap Jacket has also been covered with a clear, removable cover. Blue cloth covered boards show some fading to the edges, but no edge wear. Gold lettered title and author's name on the spine, lettering is intact, but the blue cloth on the spine shows some fading. Some slight bowing of the front board. Corners are straight and not bumped. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Age appropriate toning to the edges of the text pages. This is not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.

There are a few faint marks on the cover that prevent me from rating it as fine. The dust jacket has very minor edgewear, otherwise fine. The slipcase is also near fine with a couple of stains and wear on top edge, evidence of sticker removal and faint scrapes on the rear panel. Photos are the best description.
