Cloth. Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. This work is the biography of an Indian brave who had lived with his tribe in peaceful association with the British traders at Fort Nisqually until the Boston settlers pushed north to Puget Sound. He watched the encroachment and saw the best lands being fenced in, the Nisqually braves weakened and realized that something must be done to save his native land for his people and to save their rights. He held councils with leaders of the mightiest tribes to help throw off the white man's yoke before the situation became hopeless. The story epitomizes the struggle of the American Indian for justice from the government, a vain effort which today remains an irremovable blot upon American history. The endpapers serve as maps. A bibliography is included. The former owners names are on the half-title page; the dust jacket is in mylar; otherwise, this copy is clean and solid. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, inscribed on the FFEP. Signed by Author(s).
