Item Description: The Folio Society, London, England, 2008. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. 2nd Edition. This is one of the finest of The Folio Society's Limited Editions. The condition of the two volumes and that of the dark blue 'clamshell' original solander box to secure them is a strong 'Very Good'. 'Liber Bestiarum' is a facsimile of manuscript Bodley 764 in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. The reprographics are by Dot Gradations , Wickford, Essex. The book has been printed and gold-foiled by Windles of Thame, Oxon on Furioso paper. This particular limited edition has been hand bound by Brian Settle of Ludlow Bookbinders in full nIgerian goatskin leather over bevelled boards, blocked with a design by David Eccles. The edition is limited to 1980 numbered copies - and 20 lettered copies which are not for sale. This particular copy is number 53. There are two volumes in this publication: The main volume is the facsimile of Bodley 764 which has 137 numbered pages. The companion volume contains a 49 page Commentary by Christopher de Hamel, followed by a Translation by Richard Barber, taking the total numbered pages in this volume to 174. The size of each volume in inches is: 11.8 x 7.6. Both volumes fit neatly into a black solander box which has on the spine a label giving the full and correct title. I have down-graded the condition of the box to 'Very Good' as while there is no obvious general wear and tear, nor any scratches, there are some very small and gentle knocks to edges. As with all our sales of books within the UK, we only ever charge a flat standard delivery cost of £3.35. Bookseller Inventory # 001200
