From the introduction: " While English and American literature is the cornerstone of [Irwin Silver's] collection (the foundation works of Clemens, Defoe, Dickens, Doyle, Melville, Poe, Shakespeare, Swift, and Whitman are all represented), important works of science and social science, children's literature, and fine and decorative bindings are also present. Among the many highlights is a near-fine, entirely unsophisticated copy of the first edition of On the Origin of . which is complemented by one of the handful of surviving autograph leaves from Darwin's original manuscript. In addition, Mr. Silver's copy of Leaves of Grass, in the second cloth binding, is one of just three copies recorded with the first state of the copyright page." Near Fine in dustwrapper.
