Item Description: J. C. Derby, Auburn, NY, 1847. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fair. First Edition. A career military man and 12 President of the United States, this campaign biography focuses on Zachary Taylor's exploits during the War with Mexico in 1846, but also recounts his role in the Seminole Campaign in Florida in 1836. Original publisher's binding, the spine is missing two large pieces, interior pages are are generally clean with the exception of the first few and last few pages, which are foxed (a few internal pages are also foxed). Old owner name stamps, crude pencil sketch of Zachary Taylor follows outline on back of frontis portrait page (does not affect printed image) , one contents page is clipped at bottom corner, one signature loose.
