About this Item: Little, Brown, New York, 2010. First edition of Richards' autobiography. Octavo, original boards, illustrated. Signed by Keith Richards on the title page. Fine in a fine dust jacket. "[A] high-def, high-velocity portrait of the era when rock 'n' roll came of age, a raw report from deep inside the counterculture maelstrom of how that music swept like a tsunami over Britain and the United States.Mr. Richards has found a way to channel to the reader his own avidity, his own deep soul hunger for music and to make us feel the connections that bind one generation of musicians to another. Along the way he even manages to communicate something of that magic, electromagnetic experience of playing on stage with his mates, be it in a little club or a huge stadium" (Michiko Kakutani, The New York Times). About this Item: London: Weidenfeld and Nicolson., 2010. Rock Biography/Autobiography. SIGNED LIMITED FIRST EDITION. Hardcover, pp.654, with black and white plates, original dust-jacket. One of an unspecified limited number Signed by Keith Richards on a specially printed 'exclusive edition' leaf. A very fine copy. Acknowledged as perhaps the greatest rhythm guitarist in Rock n Roll, Keith is perhaps even more legendary for his near-miraculous ability to survive the most debauched excesses of the rock & roll lifestyle. His prodigious consumption of drugs and alcohol has been well documented, and would likely have destroyed anyone with a less amazing endurance level. On stage with the Rolling Stones he epitomized the guitar-hero cool as the quiet, stoic alter ego to Jagger's extroverted frontman, a widely imitated image made all the more fascinating by his tightrope walking hedonism. Yet part of Richards' mystique often overshadows his musical legacy. Arguably the finest blues-based rhythm guitarist to hit rock n roll since his idol Chuck Berry, Richards knocked out some of the most indelible guitar riffs in rock history, and he did it so often and with such apparent effortlessness that it was easy to take his songwriting skills for granted. His lean, punchy, muscular sound was the result of his unerring sense of groove and intuitive use of space within songs, all of which made played a major part in laying the groundwork for hard rock. About this Item: Weidenfeld and Nicolson, 2010. Hardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. WWeidenfeld and Nicolson. London, United Kingdom, 2010. Hardcover. 8vo. pp 564. HAND SIGNED UK FIRST EDITION. AS NEW and an UNREAD copy. One of only 260 DIRECTLY HAND SIGNED by the author, Keith Richards, on the title page in black marker pen, on 3rd November 2010. Printed lithographically in black cloth, stamped in silver on the spine. Fine book in Fine dust jacket. It is really rare to find a signed copy of Life in such amazing condition. Please see the photographs attached to my listing to verify the condition of the book. Additional photographs can be provided upon request. The providence of this book is that I obtained it by personally queuing outside Waterstones Bookstore, 203/206 Piccadilly, London, United Kingdom, W1J 9HD, on 3rd November 2010. Due to London traffic, I arrived much later in the morning than many people (and friends) in the queue, who had been there since the previous evening. The first 150 people in the queue with gold wristbands were guaranteed to meet Keith Richards, with a further 110 people being issued with black wristbands. People with black wristbands were told it was likely they would get to meet Keith but it was not guaranteed. I had black wristband number 106. Once up on the bookstores first floor, Keiths PR and security people told us that we were not allowed to take photos of him or with him. I was incredibly fortunate to meet Keith, watch him personally sign my copy of Life in the books title page and shake his exceedingly gnarled hand. I think there were only four people with black wristband in the queue after me who got to meet Keith and get their copies of Life signed directly. The book will be sold with the black wristband number 106. Language: eng. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # WFTB #006

About this Item: Orion Publishing Co. hard. Condition: fine. Dust Jacket Condition: fine. First edition. All signed editions from Topping and Company Booksellers will be wrapped with great care in protective packaging and shipped securely via courier to ensure safe delivery. Hardcover New and Signed First Edition, First Printing. Dust jacket is in fine condition. With the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards created the riffs, the lyrics and the songs that roused the world, and over four decades he lived the original rock and roll life: taking the chances he wanted, speaking his mind, and making it all work in a way that no one before him had ever done. Now, at last, the man himself tells us the story of life in the crossfire hurricane. And what a life. Listening obsessively to Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records as a child in post-war Kent. Learning guitar and forming a band with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones. The Rolling Stones' first fame and success as a bad-boy band. The notorious Redlands drug bust and subsequent series of confrontations with a nervous establishment that led to his enduring image as outlaw and folk hero. Creating immortal riffs such as the ones in 'Jumping Jack Flash' and 'Street Fighting Man' and 'Honky Tonk Women'. Falling in love with Anita Pallenberg and the death of Brian Jones. Tax exile in France, wildfire tours of the US, 'Exile on Main Street' and 'Some Girls'. Ever increasing fame, isolation and addiction. Falling in love with Patti Hansen. Estrangement from Mick Jagger and subsequent reconciliation. Solo albums and performances with his band the Xpensive Winos. Marriage, family and the road that goes on for ever. In a voice that is uniquely and intimately his own, with the disarming honesty that has always been his trademark, Keith Richards brings us the essential life story of our times. Signed by author.
