About this Item: Basil Blackwell, 1920. Pictorial Cover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. General signs of ageing; minor scuffs to top and bottom of spine, general yellowing of text block, previous owner's name in ink on fep. A most unusual book for it's time. The milestones of a child's life are documented; first walking, talking, losing a tooth, questions, imaginary friends, drawing and how it develops (complete with black/white diagrams). Conversations between adult and child are included, such as 'Nannie, I have drawn you, and now I am going to draw God. I suppose I had better not put a pipe in his mouth.' Development from birth to the age of seven is perceptively and amusingly described. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 000366
