Red pictorial boards showing two children on the front cover remain in Good+ condition as does the interior. Previous owners' names in ink on inside front cover. There is a faint damp stain on bottom edges of some pages but the book is otherwise clean and tight. This special edition is published by arrangement with the publishers of the regular edition (Thomas Y. Crowell Company, 1932). In the preface, the author explains how a little girl used her first cake of soap in a dangerously fast moving river, how her brother ran away and how little girls were not wantedin these times and often had names such as Trouble and Worthless and little boys had names such as Valuable Nut Tree and Most Precious. The story is of the adventure experienced by these children. 121 pages. Seller Inventory # 003670
