Marbled end papers, front hinge a little tender with minor loss to top edge near hinge. Illustrated with 10 engraved plates. Sporadic mild foxing, first double page plate affected. About this Item: Lisbon Antonio Joaquim de Paula, 1853. Second edition. Small 8vo (15 x 10 cm), pp.348, 10 engraved plates including 2 double-page, some foxing to a couple of plates, discreet stamp , ink inscription on title-page, marbled endpapers, bound in contemporary morocco backed mottled boards, spine gilt lettered and ruled, extremities worn; overall a good solid copy. This historical guide was originally published in 1848 as "The Stranger's Guide to Lisbon". Both editions are extremely scarce but this edition contains attractive engraved plates of the Cathedral, Aqueduct and several views including one of Cintra. Unusual work. Seller Inventory # 90380
