Blue cloth with a castle in shadows on front, cream panel on front and spine with blue lettering, design in blue and cream. Clean and unmarked; corners scuffed, edges lightly rubbed. Tight and solid sewn binding. Endpapers with blue/white illustration from Shakespeare's As You Like It, Act III, Scene II. Rear endpapers have faces penciled in and a little scuff mark on the lower corner of the paste-down, former owners/students names on verso of back free endpaper. Name and school class information on verso of flep and frontispiece. Full color frontispiece of "Steel Mills at Night" from an original painting by Richard Chase. Text block edges sort of dingy, with a name on fore-edge. Pages clean and mostly unmarked, with a few with check marks. Illustrated. This book is one of a series of four books that provide an organized course in literature for secondary schools.
