About this Item: Author, Deerfield, MA, 1915. Cloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. First Edition. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the front endpaper: "_________________, With the Compliments of The Author". From the Preface: "This story was written in 1890 on the occasion of the dedication of the "Little Brown House" to a new purpose. A tumbled down ruin, in which fragments of roof-tree and floor were seen resting together in desolation on the cellar bottom, had been converted into a most charming studio, and was occupied by Miss Annie Cabot Putnam and Mrs. Madeline Yale Wynne. The story came to the notice of Edwin D. Mead of Boston who published it in the 'New England Magazine' for September, 1898, and a thousand reprints found their way into libraries and homes. This pamphlet edition has long since been exhausted, but still the demand continues. To satisfy this demand the story is now reproduced in a more permanent form." Tan cloth binding with white lettering and white 'Little Brown House' illustration on cover. 51 pages. 15 black & white drawn, painted and photographic illustrations. Scattered foxing to front and rear endpapers, elsewise a bright, clean, tight copy! Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 004037

About this Item: Vantage Press, New York, 1961. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author on the first front end paper. Note that not only is this the Only Signed copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet, it is the Only Signed or Unsigned copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. From the front flap of the dust jacket 'In this verse a New England poet seeks to transpose into clearly understandable terms the most sublime of poetry-- the poetry that abounds in ordinary, run-of-the-mill every day life'. You can see from the photographs the excellent condition of the book's covers. They are perfectly clean and they are unworn. This book is also very solidly bound, without any issues in that regard. The pages are in excellent condition. Scrolling through, I didn't see any soiling at all. Nor did I see any creasing or dogeared corners. No markings or attachments. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. The dust jacket is in excellent condition as well. It doesn't have any tears. It is NOT price-clipped. It's flaps look terrific. It is also quite clean with only a few small light spots on the rear edge of the spine. The dust jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. Inscribed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 001466

About this Item: Globe Pequot, U.S.A., 2010. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The Way I See It is Melissa Anderson's tale of growing up on the set of one of the most beloved and iconic television shows of the 1970s, from her initial audition to taping her last episode seven years later. The book itself is broken into sections for each year of the show, with specific episodes highlighted. Ms. Anderson recounts behind the scenes tales of everything from a Dinty Moore beef stew overload (what the cast members ate during meal scenes where they had stew) to disputes between co-stars. Michael Landon and Karen Grassle (the actress who played Caroline Ingalls) would apparently butt heads throughout much of the run of the show. Grassle was a classically trained actress who wished to have a more significant role on the show, against Landon's wishes. Landon himself was revealed as a controlling jokester with a mean streak who could be difficult to work with, particularly once he began an affair with Anderson's stand-in, but who could still remain a compassionate and caring man.
