Little Ta-Wish was written by Mary Earle Hardy and wonderfully illustrated by Kyohei Inukai with 53 from drawings by Inukai and 32 from photographs. Written in 1914 and published by Rand McNally & Company, Chicago & New York. The book has wonderful legends and stories from the Yellowstone . The book features various indian stories from tribes of the American West with such titles as - - The North Star, And the Old Woman in the Moon, The Squaw Who Talked Too Much and the One With the Stinging Tongue, What It Cost to Be Brave, Why the Frogs Croaks in the Ponds, The Fossil Forest, Fire and the Geyser , Yampas the Wild Parsnip and more all beautifully illustrated. The blue pictorial cloth cover with pastedown painting and gily lettering on cover and spine is in good condition with some shelfwear. Gift inscription on endpapers, but the interior in very good wth several torn edges and partially separating from spine in the last 1/4 of the book. 160 pages with a list of other books available. It measures 6" by 8" Size: 6 " By 8".
