Original Cloth. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Williams, Garth (illustrator). First Edition. First published in the USA in 1941 by Harper & Brothers and then reissued with illustrations by Garth Williams in 1953. This first UK edition appeared in 1963 using the same cover and illustrations. This book was in a lending library and had a label stuck over the top of the jacket and the front pastedown. This has been removed but the removal has caused surface damage to the top inch of the jacket and to a three inch square at the top of the front pastedown. No other library marking and the boards and pages are generally clean and unmarked with little signs of wear. The jacket has a small nick at the base of the spine and some rubbing to the top left hand corner of the front panel. First printing.

Decorative Cloth. Condition: Good +. No Jacket. Helen Sewell and Mildred Boyle (illustrator). First Edition. Stated first edition. In addition it has the proper K-Q and 11-1. This would be very good except that it was carelessly opened along the lower edge. The result is some ragged lower edges and tears of the lower margin of several pages.
