Illustrated throughout by line drawings, some whole page, by music and by decorative title page and borders to text. Decorated by colophon. The second series of an early study of another eight children's singing games, finely illustrated in the Arts and Crafts style, by Winifred Green, nee Smith (1871-1940) of the Birmingham School of Art. Alice Bertha Gomme (1852-1938), folkorist and collaborator of Cecil Sharp, was a founder member of the Folklore Society in 1878. She wrote a pioneering study, The Traditional Games of England, Scotland and Ireland (2 vols., 1894, 98), describing some eight hundred children's games.
