First Edition
Paperback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. New York: Lustrum Press, 1971. [60] pp. 25.5 x 25.5 cm. Glossy white wrappers with titling in black on front and rear cover. Mild to moderate soiling to covers, with two diagonal creases to front and rear cover. Bump to upper corner at spine. Gift inscription in black ink on title page by previous owner. No rusting to staples. Started in 1970 by Ralph Gibson, Lustrum Press was created in order to showcase fine art photography. The year after Gibson published his first book, which was his own work entitled 'The Somnambulist', he published Daniel Seymour's only book. Seymour intended the sequence of photographs to function as literature, telling a story that would preserve his identity. The New York Times prophetically said the book was "destined to become a classic", and marks the beginnings of a reanaissance in the publication of photography. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good.
