Spine rubbed, discoloured and slightly frayed at head and foot, boards somewhat worn with some damp effect, some damp-discolouration to pastedowns, 2.5 inch top-edge tear (glue-repaired) to one colour plate, short top-edge tear to another plate page, inner side of hinges split but hinges holding, corners worn, endpapers foxed, occasional marks and offsetting to some pages - however, colour plates quite clean and bright ; despite its faults, a solid Good + copy. The count of 24 pages of illustrations counts the double page as 2 colour illustrations. The stories are told in verse, with extra-large print. The front cover has faded and darkened, the rear cover has a white damp stain mark running down the centre. The spine is titled in gilt (faded) and is missing the top and base of the paper covering. The front internal hinge is cracked with the webbing visible. There is an inscription to the ffep. The binding is coming apart – approximately 4 or 5 pages in, but holding well.
