About this Item: Ticknor & Fields, 1858. Hardcover. Condition: Good. First edition. ISBN Hardback. No dustjacket. Bound in 1/2 brown leather with marbled paper covers and marbled page edges, ribbed spine with gold design compartments. The title compartment on the spine has had a third of its area in the upper left corner stripped out to plain brown leather underneath removing the letters Hy out of the title word Hymns Some slight waterstaining to the back pages right near the spine area which is not all that noticeable. No statement of later printing on copyright page. Nice steel engraving plate for the frontispiece. Interior pages tight and square with minimal wear and slight browning to their edges. Still a nice tight reading copy in a fine leather binding which looks better than this description sounds. Seller Inventory # 55319
