A near fine solid book in the original binding. Clean with contents excellent. Slight bump at the top edge of the binding. In a near fine dust jacket with slight rubbing at the top and lower edge of the spine panel. A sharp and clean book. This book contains a long inscription to a young man that worked in the stock room of MAD magazine. Apparently , Gaines liked this young man and was astonished by his gullibility. He once told the kid that he had a twin brother named Rex. This is how " REX " Gaines was born. You can google this whole tale. Well Gaines created this phantom twin and named him REX. A terrific joke on this Anthony. The pretend went on for quite some time with some really cool thing Gaines did to continue the ruse. The book is inscribed " For Anthony ( Our beloved Anthony ! In fond recollection of our wonderful good old days! Without you this book wouldn't have had it's best anecdote! . ? signed, Rex Gaines " The last 2 words are not readable by us.
