About this Item: Associated Music Publishers, New York / London, 1972. Wrappers. Condition: Near Mint. Dust Jacket Condition: No dust-wrapper issued. 1st Edition. Signed and inscribed by the author. Original printed wrappers. 43pp. In fine, near mint condition. Musical score by Lalo Schifrin, text by Ray Bradbury, for mixed choirs and narrator with piano accompaniment. The verso of the title-page states that 'Madrigals for the Space Age was commissioned by the Sinfonia Foundation of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity to inaugurate the observance of the fraternity's Diamond Anniversary Year, 1972-1973'. Signed and inscribed on the front cover by Ray Bradbury to his long-time friend, collaborator and editor "For Peter Haining! With gratitude! Ray Bradbury. 4/14/87". One of the scarcest of all Ray Bradbury's trade publications and very rarely encountered in any form. From the collection of the late Peter Haining (1940-2007). Peter Haining was a British publisher, anthologist and writer, a long-standing friend of Ray Bradbury who had been responsible for the first British publication in book form of many of Ray Bradbury's early stories (see Michael Ashley, William G. Contento: The Supernatural Index). A rare Bradbury item and a nice association copy. See our other Abe listings for several other scarce Ray Bradbury items from Peter Haining's collection. We will happily entertain offers from those wishing to acquire the whole of the Haining collection, subject to items being unsold. Inscribed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 000157
