Book is tight, square, sharp-cornered and free of markings or flaws inside and out, other than a very minor and slight bow to the front cover. Great illustrations throughout. The Daniel-Johnson dam, formerly known as Manic-5, is a multiple-arch buttress dam on the Manicouagan River that creates the annular Manicouagan Reservoir. Part of the multiple dams run by Hydro-Quebec, this was one of the first and largest and has created a huge amount of controversy in Quebec and neighboring New England.

Beautiful illustrations and a compelling story. Black cloth boards with gold gilt lettering on spine. Endpages have darkened somewhat with some staining along the spine. Bottom foredge has purple stain that looks like something has been sprayed? Ephemera included is a newspaper article from the Toronto star about the dam. no date. Text is in lovely condition. Dust jacket has a white background with one of Ms. Rethi's drawings on the front. Black title. Edges have a bit of chipping, and darkened spine.
