First Edition
First Edition - Paperback Original. One of the most famous of vintage paperbacks with an excellent cover painting of a huge green faced man smoking a joint and hovering over a reclining and voluptuous woman in a skin tight red strapless evening gown. Very good bright copy with some handling, minor creasing and a hint of edge wear.
Softcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition in book form, a novella reprinted from *Detective Fiction Weekly*. Diagonal crease to the Bill Fleming-illustrated front panel, very good and sound with modest general wear and a couple of smaller, lighter cover creases. Murder spree facilitated by marihuana.
Pictorial wrappers. Condition: Very Good +. A very pleasing copy of the 1958 1st French edition of this fragile paperback original, with different --but equally striking, equally eroticized-- cover art. Significantly scarcer than the 1951 1st stand alone American edition, the razor-thin "Dell 10 cent" paperback. This French counterpart, more conventionally pocket book-sized, shows a bit of subtle leaning to the spine and a touch of very light creasing at the front panel. Written pseudonymously by the great Cornell Woolrich (1903-1968), a rare highspot of the genre in its 1st French iteration. Presses de la Cite, #446.
