ARTHUR LEONARD ROSS'S COPY, SIGNED BY YIGAEL YADIN - Quarto [approximately 10-1/4 inch high by 7-1/2 inches wide], black boards & off-white buckram in a price-clipped dust wrapper. The lower edges of the covers are slightly darkened. 272 pages, Profuse illustrations in color and black & white, including maps & plans. The page edges are slightly darkened. Very good. From the library of New York attorney Arthur Leonard Ross [d.1975], who was the legal representative in the U.S. for Emma Goldman as well as the attorney for the author Frank Harris.Inscribed and signed by military leader and archaeologist Yadin below Ross's bookplate: "With best wishes / Yigael Yadin".The bookplate is by Botho [Robert] Schmidt, engraved by Otto Ubbelahde. A sheet of heavier paper has been mounted over the front pastedown. The recessed bookplate is placed in the upper two-thirds of the sheet within a red frame.
