Item Description: Knopf, 1970. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. This is a signed copy of the stated first edition of Volume II of Julia Child and Simone Beck's Mastering the Art of French Cooking (555 numbered pages, plus index), published by Knopf in 1970. This is in its original dust jacket, which is in good condition, with moderate edge wear, and sunning to the spine area, but clean overall, with no notable stains or deep tears, and with the lettering and art unfaded. The flaps, with the price not clipped, are very good. The cover (10.25" x 7.25") has light sunning to its spine, which is straight and securely attached. The front and back are clean and unfaded, with no stains, tears, or other flaws. The inside is near fine, its only notable flaw being a slight chip at the top edge of the front end page. There are no tears, stains or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. There are no stamps or other attachments. All the text and illustrations are in like new condition. The only writing is the brief note, signed by Julia Child, on the half title page. This is an excellent copy. I don't have a certificate of authenticity, but this signature is guaranteed to be as I'm representing it, genuine. The above photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions. International shipping would be by priority insured mail, with a shipping charge of $75.00. Signed by Author(s). Bookseller Inventory # 773

Item Description: Alfred A. Knopf 1961-70, New York, 1961. First editions of both volumes of this classic cook book. Quarto, 2 volumes, original illustrated boards. Volume 1 is signed by "Bon Appetit Julia Child" on a bookplate. Volume two is inscribed by and dated in the year of publication by Julia Child on the half title page. Both copies are in near fine condition in near fine dust jackets. A very nice set, rare signed in both volumes. Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking is arguably the most influential work on French food ever published in the United States.
