A brief biography of Karl Goetz, his life and work, and how friends and patrons saw him, the sinking of the Lusitania medal, the turbulent years in German history reflected in the medals of Karl Goetz, the World War I medals 1914-1918, the occupation of the Rhine and Ruhr medals 1919-1923, and the Third Reich years 1933-1945, a general assesement of the relations of Goetz with the Nazis, and the medals made in this thirteen year period, and his eventual commercial aspects after World War II. Illustrated with over six hundred Karl Goetz medals, with descriptive text, and a rarity evaluation, with two errata slips tipped in, also a dealers two page Karl Goetz Medal list. Also included with this book is a Karl Goetz Medal, "Red Cross War Dogs" Inscription on the obverse "First Time Use Of Red Cross Dogs In World War 1914" and the inscription on the reverse "In The Service Of Humanity". opus 147, page 146 and page 64. 64.
