Item Description: Forgotten Books, United States, 2015. Paperback. Book Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****.Excerpt from The Methodist Almanac: For the Year of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, 1834: Being the Second After Bissextile, and the Fifty-Eight of American Independence, Containing All the Customary Calculations in Equal or Clock Time The Editor yields to no one in high appreciation and affectionate regard for Bishop Henry White Warren, who passed quietly from earth Tuesday evening, July 23, at his home in University Park, Colo. He was one of the greatest men of a great church. To those who saw and heard him at Minneapolis it hardly seems possible that he has so soon gone away not to return again. As one has suggested, such men do not pass out, they pass on. That tall and commanding figure that was the physical counterpart of his scwl will long linger in the mental vision of those who knew him. If the Emperor of Germany is by look and act every inch a king, then, judged by this same standard, Henry W. Warren was every inch a Bishop. What matter if his dignity differentiated him from other people. It did not make him in the least degree unbrotherly or hard to approach; for he was a man of considerate brotherliness toward his fellow laborers, and of lofty, manly character. Such a life once lived becomes forever more a fountain of blessing to mankind. There was no unequal development in his character; he was wonderfully well rounded. He had vision, initiative, and leadership. The church chose wisely when it called him, in 1880, to the episcopacy.
