About this Item: London Faber & Faber. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - A piercing scream, shattering the evening calm, brings Superintendent Adam Dalgliesh hurrying from his literary party to the nearby Steen Psychiatric Clinic, where he discovers the body of a woman sprawled on the basement floor, a chisel thrust through her heart. As Dalgliesh probes beneath the apparently unruffled calm of the clinic, he discovers that many an intrigue lies hidden behind the Georgian terrace's unassuming façade. About this Item: Faber, London, 1963. Hard Cover. Condition: Good+. First Edition. HARDBACK - EX LIBRARY FIRST EDITION - We have described the condition of the book as only good plus as the book is an ex library copy, but the condition is considerably better than would be expected for an ex library copy, with very clean red boards. The gilt lettering to the spine is very bright with no loss or dulling. Internally, the pages are very clean and white. The book looks to have been very lightly read over the years. There is a Kent Library plate to the front pastedown, with a lightly visible discarded stamp to the ffep. There is also a very faint library stamp to the bottom corner of the copy rite page. There is the small remains of a library lending label to the rear endpaper, that may possibly be removable with care. There is some light surface loss to the rear pastedown. Overall a clean example of a very scarce book. NO DUST WRAPPER. Seller Inventory # 001063
