First Edition. Signed by actresses Patty McCormick and Patty Duke, the first two women to play the role of Helen Keller in this classic tale. The Miracle Worker was originally written as a television play by William Gibson with the stimulus of director Arthur Penn who cast Patty McCormick. Gibson and Penn then took the play to Broadway where Patty Duke, then first played the role. As Hollywood called, Penn took Duke and directed the film version for which Duke won an Academy Award. Near fine in a near fine lightly used dust jacket.
