3. Mechlinae ( Mechelen ), H. Dessain, 1893, in-folio, 31 x 22,5 cm, XXVIII pp + 472 pp + (143) pp + 18 pp + 13 pp + some unpaginated leaves (additions) bound in entirely printed in red and black, some full page black/white illustrations (one signed H. Bauer ), some printed music staves, bound in full red leather, with gilt decoration on front and back cover, all edges gilt. Raised gilt spine. Extremities of the binding with some wear but not resulting in loss of leather. The book has served during mass so it show on the interior some slight wear and thumbing, but it is still a fine/good copy of an impressive liturgical book of the Roman Catholic Church. Dunkelbraunes Kalbsleder der Zeit mit reicher Rücken- und Deckelvergoldung (oxydiert) über Holzdeckeln mit abgeschrägten Deckelkanten. Marmorvorsätze. 1 Schließe (von 2). Folio (240:332 mm). Schön gebundenes venezianisches Missale mit dem "Commune Sanctorum" und den ungarischen Missae proprie. Die schönen Illustrationen teils unbezeichnet; ein Kupfer von Cur. Orsolini signiert. Etwas fingerfleckig; einige wenige Bll. mit stärkeren Läsuren am Unterrand. Der hübsche, kaum beriebene und nur an den Kapitelen etwas bestoßene Einband zeigt an beiden Deckeln das IHS-Monogramm sowie reiches Rankenwerk an Ecken und Kanten, dieses umfasst von einer Laubstabbordüre; der Rücken mit hübscher floraler Stempelung.

(32), 399 pp, (1), lxvi [of lxx] pp. Printed in red and black throughout, and including finely-engraved title-page signed 'Piccini', further engraving on p. 178, and 3 full-page woodcuts in text, as well as hundreds of large woodcut initials. [bound with] Missae Propriae Sanctorum. Venice: Baglioni, 1730. 24 pp, with tyographical slip pasted onto p. 24 to add in a further feast for San Giovanni a Facundo; and bound with further, individually-printed supplemental sheets for the feasts of Catherine of Siena, Margaret of Cortona, Felice of Cantalicio, Aloysius Gonzaga, Pope Leo, Isidoro, the Virgin Mary, Angela Merici, Francis Caracciolo, Jerome Emiliani, Camillo de Lellis, Bishop Emygdius, Jeanne-Francoise Fremiot de Chantal, Joseph Calasancti, Joseph of Cupertino, John Cantius, and Blessed Leonard of Port Maurice. Bound together in contemporary calf with gilt trim, rather rubbed; contents collated and well-preserved. This edition unrecorded in OCLC; ICCU shows just one copy.

Hanicq, 1846, in-folio, 38 x 26,5 cm, (54)(title and calender printed in red & black , title with woodengraved vignette) + full page copper engraving (annonciation) + engraved subtitle + 496 pp + cxciv pp + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 pp, with 7 full page unnumbered copperengravings and 7 engraved subtitles (some engravings signed in the plate ; ''Picquet pinxit, Benoist sculpsit''), all pages printed in red and black and within triple typographicals fillets. BOUND WITH; Missae Propriae Sanctorum fratibus et monialibus Carmelitis Discalceatis congregationis Sancti Eliae ordinis Beatissimae Virginis Mariae de Monte Carmelo.Romae, (Roma), Ex typographia Contedini, 1835, viii + 52 + 4 + (24)(blank). Both works contain printed music and some later added leaves. Contemporary full red morocco, large elaborate gilt tooling on both covers, with central cross, with underneath the motto; ''In hoc signo vinces'', surrounded by 4 winged putti. Raised back with gilt ornaments, all edges gilt, white satin paper endleaves, fine binding but with some wear at corners and extremities, interior fine. Some of the naked putti of the engraved plates have been covered by a bluegray wash by a prudish carmelite. In all a well preserved monumental liturgical book. A nice typographical specimen of a 19th century missal illustrated, printed and bound with fine craftmanship by the famous Hanicq press in Mechelen. The missal belonged to the discalced Carmelites of Ypres (Ieper). (Liturgical typography, missal).
