Second Trade Edition. 822pp. Blue cloth boards with gilt decorations to front cover and spine, gilt title to spine. The dust jacket is good only; jacket is clipped, and shows significant chipping and wear, although the panels are largely intact. Scarce in jacket. Good in good dj. Rockwell Kent (1882-1971) was an American artist whose career as an illustrator was cemented by the very successful black and white drawings he produced to illuminate "Moby Dick." His illustrations for the work were first published by the Lakeside Press in 1930, nearly eighty years after the initial publication of "Moby Dick." A gorgeous and evocative treatment of the most successful whaling novel of all time, well worth spending some time with. Bookseller Inventory # 30348

Very nice copy of this classic illustrated by Rockwell Kent. The hardcover first edition is in very good plus condition, only some light wear to the silver gilt lettering and design, and light signs of age inside on on paper edges giving a vintage look. The bottom edge of the covers has light fraying to the cloth from shelf wear. The dust jacket is in mylar, has chips, creases, small paper loss in areas on the spine and the flaps are both missing. Overall book very good plus, scarce dust jacket is fair. Please email for photos. We ship fast. Bookseller Inventory # 012401
